fog

The fog was so thick last night you could barely see across the street, let alone across the midway. This picture doesn't even begin to show just how dense it was!

npr junkies unite!
wait wait, don't tell me!

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to go on a house trip and attend a taping of Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! the NPR news quiz recorded in downtown Chicago. So interesting to put faces to the radio voices I listen to every week! We gleefully roamed the stage after listening to the show, and got to meet all of the weeks participants. Note Roy Blount Jr in the background!

Some new additions to the vegetation in my room--a lovely pot of daffodils and a white hyacinth. Looking forward to spring!

stairs at the Reg
stairs at the Reg

When working in the upper echelons of the Reg (the main library on campus), I like to take the stairs to get to the 4th and 5th floors. They're shadowy and angular, and never cease to fascinate me.

favorite places to study
endless books

I love each and every library on campus, and frequent them all at different times, depending on my mood. The enormous behemoth that is the Reg, the quite serenity of the Law Library, and the lovely neo-gothic architecture of the Harper reading room--all perfect places to curl up and study.

new plants
succulents

The row of succulents and the two orchids were gingerly smuggled back to Chicago from Los Angeles to add a bit of color to my dorm room. A little battered from their squished carry-on packing, yet no worse for wear!
